The primary goal of Appropriate Development Technology, Inc. (ADTINC) is to establish Internet Learning Centers to serve the economically disadvantaged, especially those in the low to middle income category. It also strives to advance computer and Internet knowledge and to enhance employment opportunities for people in areas where, historically, employment and job opportunities have been limited for various reasons
“We are bridging the digital divide by leveraging technology.”
The organization was started by concerned bankers willing to challenge the status quo with the belief that access to computers and the Internet will open unlimited possibilities and opportunities. The Center strives to introduce the latest technology and information to help people move from dependency and hopelessness to economic independence by providing career opportunities in this growing area of information technology. Such knowledge and information will allow people to remove themselves from welfare dependency and the burden of unemployment in the shortest time.
Narrowing the “Digital Divide” is the dream of banker Abdu Dula. To him, this means more than just computer access. It’s about training people–especially the economically disadvantaged–in skills that could get them better jobs and better lives. Simply, narrow the gap between “the haves” and “the have nots” and create a higher standard of living for everyone.
